Jayson Douglas
Jayson Douglas is from Paterson, NJ. His early training was at Dance World Academy. In New York City, he studied at Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey. Jayson attended Point Park University where he majored in dance. While there, he attended summer programs at Dance Place, Orlando Ballet 2, and Boston Ballet, all on full scholarships. Jayson’s professional career began as a trainee with North Carolina Dance Theatre, now known as Charlotte Ballet. Additional credits include Lexington Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Ballet Nouveau Colorado and one of Dance Magazine’s top 25 companies to watch - Company C Contemporary Ballet, where he was featured in Twyla Tharp’s “Surfer in the Styx”. He has travelled the world as a dancer on cruise lines and as an aerialist in Cirque affiliated themed shows. He is a resident choreographer with MidState Ballet, Sarah Berges Dance, and teaches masterclasses around the country as well as internationally. In April 2014 he, toured to Paris with Sarah Berges Dance. He is currently a company member with Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Boston, where he is on his second season.
